We lost Joshua

I still can't believe I'm having to write this, but little Joshua died, most likely sometime on Monday in what they believe was a cord accident. I still had to deliver him by c section, and when he came out he had the umbilical cord tightly wrapped around his neck twice, and once around his body.

Andrew's written a comprehensive blog post about what happened, so pop on over here to read more.

Sarah, Andrew,

I don't know what to say. But after reading his post on Planet Debian, I put something on The Debian User.

I'm with you in my thoughts since then. No more words needed. Except maybe: Feel hugged, both of you.

Sarah,

I am as lost for words as Im sure you are in the world at the moment. Know that my thoughts and the thoughts of many people, some of whom you have never even met, are with you and Andrew. God speed little Joshua, safe journey.

Sarah,

I only met you once, and I've emailed Andrew, but I wanted to reiterate here what I already said in email: I am deeply sorry for your loss and I am keeping you both in my thoughts. Sending lots of hugs your way.

Sarah, that's just terribly sad news. Words seem useless. I really don't know what to say except my thoughts are with you both.

Hi Sarah and Andrew- I wanted to write and thank Sarah for her research on aortic aneurysm, as it seems to run in my family too. Then I saw your blog- Im so sad for you both. Ironically, Im a neonatal intensive care RN and your pain is very real to me. Andrew, you are so right, especially in the end of what you wrote- no one should have this happen. Don't feel like there is any time line on getting through your feelings- thinking of all three of you, Joshua was a beautiful little guy! Mary
